Roof Coatings

Our renewal coating for concrete or terracotta roof tiles quite simply makes an old roof new again and is often a preferred and far less costly solution compared to replacing the existing roof tiles.
Our high quality roof coating product will enhance and give long lasting protection to your roof tiles. It is fully elastic and allows water out but not in. It also offers excellent adhesion to the roof tile.

Using Roofline Scotland’s roof coating system means that weathered tiles are restored to a factory finish and will remain this way for many years, not only enhancing the look, but also improving the highly important aspects of durability, adhesion and inhibiting mould re-growth.

Colours Available

Terracotta, slate grey and brown

The product is available in a range of attractive colours - tile red, brown, slate grey, green, rustic, red brown.

What’s involved?

Our fully trained and employed craftsman (we never use sub-contractors) carry out all the work.

STAGE 1: Cleaning Down: All roof tiles are thoroughly cleaned by high pressure water jetting to remove all traces of moss, algae, lichen, pollutants and carbonation. All gutters are cleaned inside and out to remove all traces of silt build up. Great care is taken not to block existing downpipes.

STEP 2: Bio Wash: Our bio degradable detergent is applied to impregnate existing surfaces to eliminate any underlying active infestation of moss & lichen spores. This will retard any future re-growth in years to come, preventing any underneath spoilage to the finished coating.

STEP 3: Restoration Work: All defective mortar between crests, ridge and hip tiles is hacked out and re-pointed using a fibre re-enforced polymer mortar. Any loose ridges, crests etc are re-bedded. All broken, damaged or delaminated roof tiles are replaced using same or similar profile. Any damage to mortar verges is re-sealed.

STAGE 4: Sealer Coat: Roofline Scotland’s sealer coat is then applied to all areas being treated which, restores micro-porosity to weathered tiles. The sealer coat stabilises the existing surface and forms the perfect key for the chosen top coat.

STAGE 5: Top Coat: Two top coats are applied by our specialist airless spray equipment in the customers chosen colour. The 1st coat is applied and allowed to dry (please note: drying time dependant on temperatures at time of installation). The 2nd coat is applied to give a finish of a newly installed roof. Following completion, your property will be left in a clean and tidy condition.
